Derived from the metaphor 'Dance your way through life' and 'Ace your way', DACEWA was created. For us, it's about more than just fitness – it's a mindset that encourages having fun, embracing challenges with a positive outlook, striving for success in your unique way, finding balance in all pursuits, and savoring the moments as we move forward in life, much like the joy of dancing.
The beginning
Dacewa was founded in 2023 by the mother-son duo, Latha and Devakumar. What started as a childhood dream to start a company and build a brand, gave birth to DACEWA, an activewear and sports accessories brand.
Having completed my MSc International Business in Ireland, the idea of founding our own company took shape. Together, my mother and I crafted a business plan that laid the foundation for what would become Dacewa - To create a unique space in the world of activewear and sports accessories.
Our Inspiration
Our love for sports has been a driving force behind Dacewa. From playing cricket under the sun to Kho-Kho, track and field events during school days, to dreams of becoming a professional football player in college, every moment spent in the realm of sports has been a source of joy and inspiration.
The "Why"
As someone who has been immersed in sports since the tender age of 11, I experienced firsthand the challenges of finding activewear that not only performs well but also looks and feels good, with the right fit. This personal experience fueled our commitment to creating a brand that caters to individuals who share our passion for both style and functionality.
The Journey
Embarking on this journey with little prior experience in the business and garment industry was undoubtedly a challenge. However, it was precisely this challenge that motivated us to dive headfirst into the world of activewear.
In our initial months, we dedicated ourselves to crafting unique designs, meticulously sourcing the finest sports fabrics from Tamil Nadu (Tirupur) and Punjab (Ludhiana), and partnering with manufacturers who shared our commitment to consistent quality.
